about

‘The song is called Colour Blind because it was written about a girl I was dating who was on anti-depressants…she said they made the world seem grey, but she could see things in colour again when we were together. Sweet stuff, but I couldn’t make the relationship last because I was distracted elsewhere, and therefore referred to myself as ‘Colour Blind’ for not appreciating the spark and colourful connection we had. It just made sense for this song to be so upbeat and fun, because even though it was a difficult situation, we were always laughing and enjoying each other’s company’

Jesse Rudd-Schmidt

lyrics

Lyrics:

There’s a slow tap dripping to the beat of my heart
And I just stand and watch it dripping
because these words are too hard
If I was only alone then we might be alright
If I was only alone then we might be alright

My love it dripped so slow we could never fill our cups
And if you waited for me you knew you’d be waiting up
So you said ‘let’s leave it then, it will be easier’
But who knew that easier would be so hard?

There’s a slow tap dripping to the beat of my heart
It’s like this day will never finish if my words they never start
If I was only alone then we might be alright
And it will never be the same
when I’m singing to the blind

Because when you’d sing those words I’d found a harmony
And all the beauty in your voice it fixed all the pain in me
We said we’d never walk alone as we went our separate ways
Because situations just never changed...
